"Clear Choice Dermatology is committed to strengthening our community and helping meet hospital and patients' needs through blood donations," Collin Blattner, DO. This blood drive is our way of giving staff, colleagues, and neighbors an opportunity to help save lives."

As an incentive, Clear Choice Dermatology is offering Free Skin Cancer Screenings to all donors. The screening is a superficial skin check of sun-exposed areas to determine if you have skin cancer that may require further treatment.

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends annual skin exams. When was the last time you had you had your skin checked? Schedule yours online or call (503) 905-9006.

Blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors. With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished, according to the Red Cross.

"We urge community members to donate blood and help ensure that patients in local hospitals have a supply of blood ready and waiting before an emergency occurs. There's no better feeling than knowing that your blood donation may give someone a second chance at life."

According to the Red Cross, donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative, and B negative.

Disclaimer: Free skin cancer screenings are for new patients and sun-exposed areas only. Screenings provided by Kristofer McAllister, PA-C. Supervising physician Dr. Collin Blattner, DO-FAAD. The screening does not replace a complete annual exam that will determine if you have skin cancer that may require further evaluation and treatment.
