Daniel Root, MD is an exceptional, patient-focused, and holistically oriented dermatologist with over 15 years of professional experience. He was inspired to pursue medicine from an early age by his father, the late Richard K. Root, MD, a world-renowned infectious disease specialist. He graduated at the top of his medical school class and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Root completed his dermatology training at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, a cancer referral center serving northern New England. His areas of expertise include dermatologic surgery, pharmacology, dermatopathology, and infectious disease—fields in which he draws from both deep clinical knowledge and a comprehensive, patient-centered approach.
What sets Dr. Root apart is his background in the visual arts. A former ceramic artist, he brings a meticulous, creative touch to the surgical care he provides—blending technical precision with an artistic eye to achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Root has enjoyed coaching youth soccer, including for his three children who each played on state championship teams. He enjoys spending time with his wife of 27 years, who is both an artist and a therapist. His hobbies include windsurfing, running, and surfing.

I just want to say how humbly thankful I am for Dr. Root at Clear Choice in Warrenton. He practices something that has been lost in the medical field for quite some time now. Truth, Respect, dignity, compassion. He is an upstanding man/Dr. Worthy of his title. He offers hope and follows through. I have been suffering for well over 6 years with untreated rheumatoid, ostoe, bad lower back surgery x 2, spinal stenosis, just to name a few of the illnesses that Drs. Have dragged their feet, so to speak. Thank you for the extra time and help he is giving me to see that I receive some help. These illnesses are crippling, and chronic pain ( severe and daily) has made it impossible to perform activities of daily life. Not only that, but I have a sad story like many others, I'm sure. I have been hopeless, and now I have hope. Someone needs to share what a difference this Dr. is making. He is saving lives. Thank you. God bless him and you. - Real Review
