Daniel Root, MD is an exceptional, patient-focused, and holistically oriented dermatologist with over 15 years of professional experience. He was inspired to pursue medicine from an early age by his father, the late Richard K. Root, MD, a world-renowned infectious disease specialist. He graduated at the top of his medical school class and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Root completed his dermatology training at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, a cancer referral center serving northern New England. His areas of expertise include dermatologic surgery, pharmacology, dermatopathology, and infectious disease—fields in which he draws from both deep clinical knowledge and a comprehensive, patient-centered approach.
What sets Dr. Root apart is his background in the visual arts. A former ceramic artist, he brings a meticulous, creative touch to the surgical care he provides—blending technical precision with an artistic eye to achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Root has enjoyed coaching youth soccer, including for his three children who each played on state championship teams. He enjoys spending time with his wife of 27 years, who is both an artist and a therapist. His hobbies include windsurfing, running, and surfing.
