Dr. Jerry Yuan, DO, FAAD

Dr. Jerry Yuan, DO, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist with 18 years of leadership experience in the United States Navy, with a career spanning family medicine, military medical leadership, and dermatology He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and his Doctor of Osteopathy from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, California.
He completed his family medicine internship at Naval Hospital Pensacola and his dermatology residency at the National Capital Consortium in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Yuan's military career took him from primary care for Marine battalions at Camp Lejeune to deployment in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, where he led medical care for over 3,000 service members and provided outreach to local Afghan communities. He later oversaw medical care for more than 2,800 Sailors as Group Medical Officer for Maritime Expeditionary Security Group Two, with responsibilities extending across Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Djibouti, and Bahrain. Dr. Yuan established a new dermatology clinic at Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point, then went on to practice general, procedural, and cosmetic dermatology at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune and as the sole Navy dermatologist in the European theater at Naval Hospital Rota, Spain. Across these roles, he cared for thousands of active-duty service members, dependents, and retirees.
Dr. Yuan has also served as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and held leadership roles including Dermatology Specialty Leader for Navy Medicine and Board member of the Association of Military Dermatologists.
