Dr. Surratt graduated with honors from the California College of Podiatric Medicine and completed a comprehensive podiatric medical and surgical residency at Legacy/Kaiser Portland Hospitals in Portland, Oregon. He is a four-time recipient of “Top Doc” by Portland Monthly and is board-certified in foot surgery.
Following his training, Dr. Surratt founded Westside Foot & Ankle Specialists, which expanded into a multi-location practice with 12 foot and ankle specialists, three physical therapists, and a wound care RN before rebranding to Northwest Extremity Specialists.
Dr. Surratt’s clinical expertise spans both surgical and dermatologic conditions of the foot and ankle. His services include ganglion cyst drainage, fungal nail diagnosis and treatment (including biopsy), ingrown nail avulsions and matrixectomies, verrucae (wart) treatments including the Panacos procedure, nail bed and nail matrix biopsies, skin biopsies, and foreign body excisions. He also specializes in running mechanics, sports medicine of the foot and ankle, and surgical management of foot deformities.
His interest in podiatry began after witnessing a teammate receive care from a team podiatrist at Colorado State University. A former competitive runner, Dr. Surratt achieved personal records of 14:11 in the 5,000 meters and 29:30 in the 10,000 meters during his collegiate career.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys cycling, archery, distance swimming—including completing the Alcatraz Swim for his 40th birthday—and traveling with his family.
