Nathan Jetter, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon with dual board certifications from the American Board of Dermatology in Dermatology and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Jetter earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Northwestern University and spent several years in finance at McKinsey & Company and Coghill Capital Management. He subsequently pursued medicine, earning his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Medicine (UIC) in Chicago, where he was a Raymond Nester Sweeney Academic Scholar and was recognized with the Excellence in Clinical Dermatology Award for top performance among medical students. He completed a transitional year internship at Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois, followed by his dermatology residency at UIC, during which he served as Chief Resident of the Veterans Affairs Dermatology Clinic. Dr. Jetter has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Journal of Clinical Dermatology, and Pediatric Dermatology, with a focus on field cancerization, atopic dermatitis, and surgical techniques. He has presented his work at national and regional meetings, including the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Annual Meeting and the San Francisco Dermatology Society Annual Meeting. Dr. Jetter enjoys teaching and has served as a preceptor for family medicine residents and as a guest lecturer for medical students and dermatology residents. Dr. Jetter is committed to community service and patient advocacy. He has volunteered with the National Eczema Association in various roles since 2013, including as co-leader of an eczema support group with Dr. Peter Lio and as a member of the Board of Directors. During residency, he was a volunteer dermatologist at the New Life Volunteering Society Free Clinic, and prior to medical school, he was a founding board member of Feeding Children Everywhere, a nonprofit dedicated to providing meals to families in need.
